Dear Family and Friends,
I would like to invite you to participate in a new blog I've created. The blog is called Bookworm and the Good News. Its purpose is to provide a place for us to share our testimonies and thoughts on a different gospel topic each month. I will be placing a link to a General Conference talk (or talks) on the first Sunday of each month. Please read the article and offer your comments on the blog.
In The Family: A Proclamation to the World it states "Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed." (emphasis added)
I feel this blog is one way we can provide support to each other as an extended family. Some months you may only want to read the comments and talks. Other months your comments will be more than a paragraph long. Whichever level of participation fits you best will be welcome. I look forward to reading your thoughts.
